Traders at the popular Ekiosa market have appealed to the Benin Monarch to prevail on the Edo State Government to withdraw its eviction notice issued to them.

This follows the expiration of the two weeks ultimatum given to them to vacate the facility to allow for reconstruction.

The protesters said the vacation order will send traders into indebtedness having obtained loan facilities to reconstruct their shops when government’s intervention was not forthcoming after the fire disaster of December 22, 2019.
