President Muhammadu Buhari has described the departed ex-Vice Chancellor of University of Port-Harcourt, Professor Nimi Briggs, as an academic who lived for the good of the country and humanity. ⁣⁣

He also condoled with his surviving family, urging them to keep the professor emeritus’ legacy alive. ⁣⁣

Buhari’s condolence message is contained in a statement signed by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina.

According to a statement by his family, Professor Briggs passed away in the early hours of Easter Monday, 2023, aged 79 years.
