The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) has called for the redistribution of the 320.3 billion naira intervention fund approved by the Federal Government for tertiary institutions in the country.

President Muhammadu Buhari had approved the sum of 320 billion, 345 million, 40 thousand, 835 as the 2023 intervention funds for public tertiary education institutions in the country.

ASUU President, Emmanuel Osodeke, however called for the redistribution of the fund to ensure that it accounts for 90 percent of what has been approved to go to universities, polytechnic and not kept as bureaucracy.

He noted that from the said fund, just about 186 billion naira goes to all the universities, polytechnics, and colleges of education leaving a balance of 132 billion naira that has not been accounted for.
