The National Chairman of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), Professor Rufai Alkali, has tendered his resignation.

Alkali made his decision known in a letter addressed to the National Secretary of the party.

He premised his decision to quit on the need to make room for fresh hands to come in and build on the successes recorded in the brief period he held sway as National Chairman of the party.
