Meanwhile, Edo State Governor, Godwin Obaseki, says his government is committed to the development of a new airport in Auchi, Edo North Senatorial District of the State

Briefing journalists in Auchi, Obaseki said the Federal Government has given the state tentative approval for the Auchi Airport.

He noted that the state government is working with aviation experts to finalize the survey of the airport project. 

On the need for the new airport in Edo North, Obaseki reassures that this is not a political project but a means to meet societal need as there is no airport between Benin City and Abuja on the Edo North axis, which is more than 600 km.
