State governments have given the Attorney-General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami and the Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Godwin Emefiele, till Tuesday to comply with the order of the Supreme Court on the use of the old 500 and 1000 naira notes.
The state governments had threatened to file contempt charges against the two top officials should they fail to obey the apex court order.
Ekiti State Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Dayo Apata told journalists that the state would align with other states on whatever legal steps to take to ensure compliance.
