The United States has said that the Saturday 25th election failed to meet the expectations of Nigerians.

In a statement, the US Ambassador to Nigeria, Mary Leonard, said many citizens are frustrated with the results, while some others are celebrating victories they believe were hard-fought and well-earned.

The US envoy called on the Independent Electoral Commission (INEC) to promptly address the challenges that can be resolved ahead of the March 11 governorship elections.
