A one year European Union Step-down Training aimed at addressing capacity gap amongst members of the Conference of Non-Governmental Organizations (CONGOs) in Edo State has come to an end.
The training, a follow up programme of the EU-funded Agents for Citizen-Driven Transformation (EU-ACT) training series, was aimed at impacting on the overall organizational performance of 15 selected member organizations in areas of visibility, accountability and civic engagement.
Addressing stakeholders at the closing ceremony held in Benin City, CONGOS President, Comrade Abiola Daisy-Igaga said the training had deepened the knowledge of its members and improved their capacity.
A senior special assistant on political matters to the Edo State Governor, Ogie Ogedegbe praised the initiative, and assured that the government will continue to create a conducive atmosphere for businesses to thrive.
Some of the beneficiaries who to Super FM expressed their joy and appealed for continuation of the project.
Highlight of the event was the presentation of certificates to the beneficiaries.
