EU, British Council Train CSOs on Organizational Performance, Civic Engagement


A one year European Union Step-down Training aimed at addressing capacity gap amongst members of the Conference of Non-Governmental Organizations (CONGOs) in Edo State has come to an end. 

 

The training, a follow up programme of the EU-funded Agents for Citizen-Driven Transformation (EU-ACT) training series, aimed at impacting on the overall organizational performance of 15 selected member organizations in areas of visibility, accountability and civic engagement. 

 

Addressing stakeholders at the closing ceremony held in Benin City, CONGOS President, Comrade Abiola Daisy-Igaga highlighted some of the areas covered during the training.

 

They included techniques and methodologies on Media and Communication, Capacity Building For CSOs, Knowledge Management Training for CSOs, Advocacy Action Planning and Adopting, A Human-Rights Based Approach for CSOs, Political Economic Analysis Training for CSOs, Resource Mobilization and Fund Raising for CSOs, Project Cycle Management Training for CSOs, Monitoring and Evaluation Training for CSOs, and Gender and Social Inclusion Training for CSOs.

 

Comrade Daisy-Igaga expressed satisfaction with the training, assuring that it has been impactful to the beneficiaries.

 

On his part, Edo State Governor, Godwin Obaseki who was represented his senior special assistant on political matters, Ogie Ogedegbe praised the initiative assuring that the government will continue to create a conducive atmosphere for businesses.
