Edo State Governor, Godwin Obaseki, says his administration is working closely with the new management of the Benin Electricity Distribution Company (BEDC) to improve electricity supply across the state.
Governor Obaseki told journalists in Benin City that the state has the capacity to generate about 1000 megawatts of electricity daily.
He expressed confidence that with the partnership with the BEDC, the state will witness increased power supply by next year.
According to the governor, with the largest kilometers of fiber optic cable and the ability to generate about 1000 megawatts of electricity, Edo people do not have to relocate to the state capital to do businesses as they will be able to grow the economy of the state wherever they are.
