The Edo State Government has decried the illegal activities of some persons who move about from one filling station to another, intimidating and exploiting petroleum marketers and fuel tankers along the highways under the guise of being representatives of Edo State Ministry of Mining and Energy.

A statement by the Commissioner of Mining and Energy, Engineer Ethan Uzamere warned the illegal collectors to desist from the heinous act as anyone caught will be handed over to the security agencies and made to face  the full wrath of the law.

Uzamere said that any marketer who continues to engage in shady business with such persons does so at their own peril. 

The commissioner advised residents to report any person or group of persons who flaunts the directive to the nearest Police Station or the Ministry at the Secretariat Building, Sapele Road, or in the alternative call the ministry through phone number 08151686368.
