Ogun State Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Prof. ABAYOMI ARIGBABU has mandated principals of all the 42 flagship schools in the State to ensure the implementation of 60 students per class policy of the State government for better productivity.
The professor made this known in Abeokuta during the Strategic Meeting with the Zonal Education Officers (ZEOs), Principals and School Portals Administrators (SPAs) of the 42 flagship schools, warning that actions against the policy would attract severe punishment.
Prof. ARIGBABU noted that flagship secondary schools were the selected ones by the governor DAPO ABIODUN-led administration to serve as beacons or models for others with manageable size of not more than 60 learners to a teacher.
Prof. ARIGBABU while speaking said to control the population of the class which will be further reduced to 40, would further promote quality and ensure standard in the schools.
He enjoined principals to develop themselves technologically, in order to be relevant with 21st century teaching and administrative techniques, adding that they have mandate to supervise and be cautious of performance in their schools.
