Senior Advocate of Nigeria, Femi Falana has advised President Muhammadu Buhari to override the minister of labour on the payment of each of the ASUU lecturers.

He also asked the president to direct the payment of the full salaries of lecturers as he did in the case of the Nigerian Association of Resident Doctors in 2021.

In a statement, Falana said the federal government will be seen as engaging in selective application of the no work no pay principle if it does not pay the university lecturers in full.

Falana, said the ‘no work, no pay’ policy does not apply to ASUU members as they have since adjusted their calendars to ensure that the 2021/2022 academic session is not cancelled.
