Some Civil Society Organizations have frowned at political office holders' entitlement to 300 percent of their annual salary as severance package.
They made this known while speaking with Super FM News reporter, Esther Owolabi in Benin City.
The president of Faculty of Peace Organization, Comrade Kelly Osunbor and a Human Rights Activist, Kola Edokpayi described the development as unfortunate and insensitive to the pain of Nigerians and economic realities of the country.
They said the severance package can be channeled to finance other sectors like security and education.
A breakdown of the package however, indicates that the Federal Government would pay out 3.39 billion naira to the political office holders while the states will pay 60.06 billion naira.
