Edo State Governor Godwin Obaseki has sacked the Commissioner for Roads and Bridges, Engineer Newton Okojie.

In a statement signed by the commissioner for communication and Orientation, Chris Nehikhare, the governor thanked the commissioner for his service to the state and wished him well in his future endeavours.

The statement noted that the state has been unable to make the envisaged progress in its road infrastructure particularly in the last 12 months.

It added that the permanent secretary in the ministry, Engineer Osikhena Ojior will take charge until a new commissioner is appointed.
