Edo First Lady Charges Medical Practitioners on Value for Human Life, Commissions Edo Nursing College ICT Hub


Edo State First Lady Her Excellency Betsy Obaseki has charged medical practitioners to take their profession as a calling and treat their patients with care and the professionalism that accords value to human life.

 

The First Lady gave the charge during a visit to the Edo State College of Nursing Sciences in Benin City to commission the institution’s new ICT Hub and declare a one day capacity building workshop for the students, open.

 

While addressing the students during the capacity building workshop, Betsy Obaseki urged them to recognize that they are valuable and to place human life above pecuniary benefits.

 

She lauded the upgraded infrastructure in the school which is now adjudged to be the best in West Africa, expressing the confidence that the institution will replicate same in the quality of graduates from the school.

 

The Edo State Commissioner for Health Professor Obehi Akoria in her response to the Edo State First lady called for humility among healthcare practitioners . 

 

Earlier the Provost of the Institution Professor Patricia Ukaigwe said they currently have 500 students in the institution.

 

She described the First Lady of Edo State Her Excellency Betsy Obaseki as the Champion of the School for her immense contribution to developments in the health sector.
