The Nigeria Police Force has ordered all the Police commissioners and heads of tactical squads of all the 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory to re-strategize security management within their jurisdictions.

The Force Public Relations Officer, OLUMUYIWA ADEJOBI, in a statement said the move becomes necessary following the security advisory issued by the United States Embassy, which warned of terrorist attacks in Abuja, the nation’s capital.

The Nigeria Police says that it would review the security advisory and strengthen its structures across the country for proactiveness. Also, the Police announced a security simulation exercise in the FCT tagged “Operation Darkin Gaggawa”.

MUYIWA ADEJOBI said that the Police, as the lead agency in internal security, will not take any threat intelligence, either actionable or not, for granted.

The statement however said that there is no cause for alarm as all hands are on deck to collectively nip threats in the bud, adding that the Force Headquarters will continue to provide all State Commands and FCT tactical unit with required support, logistics, and deployments necessary.
