The Edo State Government has said it will commence enforcement of a statewide Motor/Vehicle Documentation Compliance Exercise beginning from 1st of November, 2022.

In a statement, Chairman, Edo State Internal Revenue Service, John Inegbedion, said the enforcement drive is part of strategic measures put in place to secure lives and property in the state.

Inegbedion who doubles as the Chairman Edo State Task Force on Internal Generated Revenue (IGR), said documents expected to be possessed by motorists are: Valid Vehicle license, Valid Driver's license, Valid Number Plate, Valid Certificate of Road Worthiness, Valid Hackney Carriage and Valid Vehicle Insurance Cover.

The task force comprises officials of the Edo State Internal Revenue Service, Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Vehicle Inspection Officers (VIOs), Edo State Traffic Management Agency (EDSTMA) and security agencies.
