The Edo State Government has said achieving universal health coverage is a non-negotiable goal and a major priority in strengthening the healthcare system in the state.
The State Commissioner for Health, Professor Obehi Akoria, said this while addressing journalists, in Benin City, to commemorate her one year tenure as commissioner.
Akoria said that the Primary healthcare gateway and the Health Insurance gateway had been fully activated to achieve universal health coverage.
The Commissioner further noted that the telemedicine programme initiated by the state government would be expanded to accommodate Edo-central and Edo-North in the coming year.
