The Chairman, House of Representatives Committee on Power, Magaji Da’u, has blamed reoccurring National Grid collapse on obsolete infrastructure inherited by the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN).
Da’u said this when he fielded questions from reporters after a reception in his honour on the completion of his PhD programme in Birnin-kudu.
He said that the House of Representatives plans to hold a public hearing on October 22 to seek stakeholders views on the issue.
He expressed opposition to calls for the privatization of the TCN adding that similar privatization of the Distribution Companies has yielded nothing positive for the country.
