The Edo State Government has directed that all development and building activities in the 1,229 hectares of land recently reclaimed along the Irhirhi-Obazagbon-Ogheghe Road should cease.
In a statement, Commissioner for Communication and Orientation, Chris Osa Nehikhare, said the directive is effective across the portions marked A, B, C and D in the area repossessed by the state government.
He said the state government has commenced data collection of victims of land grabbers in the area, as officials of the Edo State New Town Development Authority have set up an office in the site to capture and entertain the complaints.
He appealed to members of the public to comply with the directives as the government intensifies efforts to protect lives and property of citizens in the state.
