President MUHAMMADU BUHARI will on formally present the 2023 budget estimates before a joint session of the National Assembly.
The budget presentation is set to be the last to be done by the President, as he will be leaving office next year before the next budget is presented.
Some few weeks back, the Minister of Finance ZAINAB AHMED had proposed two options for the National Assembly to consider for the 2023 budget.
In the first option, the budget deficit was projected to be 12.41 trillion naira, while fuel subsidy was put at 6.72 trillion naira.
In the second scenario, a budget deficit of 11.30 trillion was projected, while fuel subsidy was estimated to run for 6 month from January to June at the cost of 3.3 trillion naira.
