The National Union of Electricity Employees (NUEE) has threatened to shut down the national grid once again if the Federal Government does not meet its demands, as the two-week ultimatum given to address the issues has passed.
The union’s Zonal Organizing Secretary, Northwest Zone, Comrade DUKAT AYUBA, said this at a press conference in Kaduna.
Comrade DUKAT noted that the privatization of the distribution sector was a sham as nothing had changed nine years after it was taken over by investors.
According to the union leader, the country continues to generate 5,000 megawatts of electricity, the same megawatts that have always been produced, but with higher tariffs which have brought untold hardship to Nigerians.
