Independent Petroleum Marketers Declare A Three-Day Warning Strike

Fuel scarcity looms as the Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria in nine northern states has declared a three-day warning strike by withdrawing services at depots.

Abuja, Kaduna, Nasarawa, Kogi, Niger and other branches of IPMAN started the three-day warning strike today.

The chairman of IPMAN in the northern states, YAHAYA ALHASSAN, announced the stoppage of the supply of the product from the depot due to the outstanding bridging claims of 70 billion naira owed by the Federal government.

Addressing a press conference in Maiduguri, the spokesman for IPMAN in Borno State, ABDULKADIR MUSTAPHA, said the non-payment was causing untold hardship on their members, warning of indefinite strike action if its demands are not met by the Federal government.
