A tanker explosion occured in the Matogun area of Ifo Local Government Area in Ogun state over the weekend, with a petrol tanker explosion burnt down several houses and shops, a hotel and a church building.

Fortunately, no life was lost, as youths and other residents came quickly to put off the fire from spreading further.

Some traders and residents of the area lamented the situation, saying that the terrible state of the road led to the incident, which could have been avoided if the road was in good shape.
