Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) says the restoration of the national grid has been completed after its collapse.
TCN in a statement by its General Manager, NDIDI MBAH, said the national grid experienced system disturbance, adding that the incident was a result of a sudden drop in system frequency from 49.94Hertz to 47.36Hertz, which created system instability.
MBAH said this event, which pulled out other grid-connected Units in the plant, resulted in aggregated generation loss of 457 MEGAWATTS.
She further noted that in spite of setbacks encountered at the initial stage, grid restoration had almost been completed.
Meanwhile, NDIDI MBAH asserted that a full-scale investigation is being conducted to establish the cause of this failure.
