To security matters, officers of the Ondo state police command have rescued 77 people including 26 children allegedly held hostage by a church at its premises in Ondo Town, Ondo State.

The Police Public Relations Officer in Ondo state FUNMILAYO ODUNLAMI, at the scene of the incident, added that the police arrested 2 of the church pastors.

She noted that members of the Church attacked the police officers who went to invite the church authorities for questioning, which led to the arrest.

However, an assistant pastor at the church JOSIAH PETER claimed that the police used teargas and shot into the premises upon their arrival.
