The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC has said that preliminary assessments have commenced ahead of the Ekiti State Governorship election.
INEC Voter Education Commissioner, FESTUS OKEYE made the statement in an interview with newsmen in Lagos.
OKOYE added that stakeholder engagement has commenced, and the peace accord will be signed today as part of activities lined up in the build of the June 18, elections.
Meanwhile the National Peace Committee (NPC) has appealed to residents of Ekiti to choose peace over violence in the coming governorship election in the state.
Chairman of the committee and former Head of State, General ABDULSALAMI ABUBAKAR, who made the appeal in a statement, also urged the people to come out without fear to cast their votes on the day of election
