Ekiti State Governor and Chairman of the Nigeria Governors’ Forum, KAYODE FAYEMI has joined the list of Presidential aspirants ahead of the 2023 elections.

The Chief Press Secretary to the Ekiti state governor, YINKA OYEBODE in a statement, said Governor FAYEMI will formally declare his intention at an event in Abuja scheduled for tomorrow.

The statement said that Governor FAYEMI had held consultation talks President MUHAMMADU BUHARI, traditional rulers and political leaders across the states of the Federation.

With today’s confirmation, Fayemi, an associate of APC leader, Bola Tinubu, is officially in the ring with the ex-governor of Lagos State.

Also in the APC presidential race include Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo; Minister of State for Education, Emeka Nwajiuba; Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi; Minister of Labour and Employment, Chris Ngige; Ebonyi State Governor, Dave Umahi; Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello; former Imo State Governor, Rochas Okorocha; former Abia State Governor, Orji Kalu; and former Ogun State governor, Ibikunle Amosun.

Also in the Presidential race is Governor Fayemi's predecessor, Ayo Fayose who was governor of Ekiti state between 2014-2018. Fayose is one of the 17 aspirants on the platform of the People's Democratic Party.
