As Nigeria joins other countries to mark World Malaria day, a medical practitioner Dr. AJUWON AWOLOWO, has blamed the high rate of malaria cases in the country on the failure of most Nigerians to use preventive measures like mosquito nets and insecticides.
Dr. AJUWON AWOLOWO, in an interview with Super FM News, said that while awareness on the disease is satisfactory, more needs to be done by both the government and the public in tackling malaria.
Dr. AWOLOWO, asked Nigerians to embrace a sanitation consciousness through regular cleaning of their environments, clearing the bushes in their surroundings and removal of stagnant water.
In the year 2021, a total of 200, 000 Nigerians died of Malaria, while 61 million others were affected by the disease.
