The minister of Labour and Employment, CHRIS NGIGE has expressed displeasure with the attitude of members of the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) after reaching an agreement with the Federal Government.
The minister said this in a statement after a meeting with members of the government’s team on the 2009 Agreement Renegotiation Committee, led by its Chairman, Prof. NIMI BRIGGS.
NGIGE who revealed that he had made inquiries from the Minister of Education on the disagreements and their resolutions, said that the Federal Ministry of Education did not feel the strike.
The minister recalled that the renegotiation commenced in 2017 when the Federal Government was inaugurated.
He explained that in the December 2020 agreement, he gave the government side a timeline to return to the university unions who are their employees to sort everything out.
