Justice INYANG EKWO of the Federal High Court in Abuja has ordered the Ebonyi State Governor, DAVE UMAHI and his deputy, ERIC IGWE, to leave their seats following their defections to the APC.
Justice EKWO, said that the governor and his deputy won the election on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), and cannot transfer their mandate to another political party.
The court also ordered the PDP to immediately send names of candidates to INEC to replace the governor and the deputy.
In a separate case, Justice INYANG EKWO also ordered the Speaker of the Ebonyi House of Assembly and other lawmakers who defected from the PDP to vacate their seats.
