President MUHAMMADU BUHARI has written to the National Assembly, seeking approval to borrow the sum of 4 billion dollars and 710 million euros.

BUHARI is also seeking the nation’s legislature’s approval for grant components of 125 million dollars in the 2018-2020 external rolling borrowing plan.

The President’s request was contained in a letter addressed to both chambers of the National Assembly and read on the floor at the resumption of plenary by the presiding officers.

The projects listed in the addendum to the 2018-2021 Federal Government External Borrowing Plan, are to be financed through sovereign loans from the World Bank, French Development Agency (AFD), China-Exim Bank, International Fund For Agriculture Development (IFAD), Credit Suisse Group and Standard Chartered/China Export and Credit (SINOSURE)
