The President of the Nigeria Volleyball Federation (NVBF), Engineer Musa Nimrod, pledges an expanded volleyball tour.
Engineer Musa Nimrod, President of the Nigeria Volleyball Federation (NVBF), announced that the annual beach volleyball tour introduced during his tenure is yielding positive outcomes.
Following Nigeria’s victory at the 2024 African U19 Girls Beach Volleyball Nations Championship in Morocco, Nimrod, who also chaired the Control Committee for the 2024 African U19 Boys Beach Volleyball Nations Championship, emphasized the tour's role in providing more playing opportunities and preparing Nigerian players for international competitions.
Nimrod urged state and private clubs to foster the growth of beach volleyball by organizing mini tournaments and participating in the Beach Tour and President's Cup.
Highlighting success stories like Esther Mbah and Pamela Bawa, who progressed from the National Youth Games to become champions in U19 and African Games, Nimrod assured that this year's Beach Volleyball Tour will be expanded and enhanced, building on Nigeria's recent successes in global competitions.
He encouraged volleyball associations with natural beach resources to organize local beach volleyball competitions to attract more youth and corporate support, emphasizing the need for collective efforts beyond government support.
